Weather & Climate
Greeces climate follows the typical Mediterranean climate, warm and dry summers with long periods of sunshine throughout most of the year and mild winters with rainy cold fronts. Due to the great mountainous chains that spread along central Greece, the islands that benefit from the cooling winds and sea moisture. Greeces climate varies depending on the area you are travelling to. There are two main seasons, Mid October to the end of March is winter and the weather tends to be cold and rainy, however, long stretches of consecutive rainy days are infrequent and the clouds often dissipate leaving a few sunny days at a time. April to the beginning of October are the hotter dry season with glorious sunshine and temperatures of around 30 °C.

The islands are milder than the mainland in winter and tend to be dryer in summer with generally no rainfall. The temperatures in the dry months are tempered by the fresh sea breeze that typically blows from the north. |
